IN THE NAME OF THE ROSE

We’re proud to share the completion of the Erasmus+ project “ECO 2.0 – In the Name of the Rose”, a training course that took place from May 5th to May 13th, 2026 in the coastal city of Alanya, Türkiye. This project brought together youth workers from Romania, Türkiye, Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece, and Poland under the “Knowledge Is Happiness” strategy to develop innovative approaches for engaging young people in environmental action.

Throughout the program, participants focused on three core areas: stimulating intrinsic motivation through curiosity, cultivating deep meaning-making (SENSE), and translating these concepts into eco-responsible choices. Through exploratory workshops, applied testing labs, and collaborative sessions, they explored how to build a shared facilitation framework that connects personal wellbeing to the care of our “common home,” which includes self, community, and nature.

Special attention was given to practical tools and strategies, culminating in the co-creation and piloting of a replicable methods toolkit. This toolbox is packed with ready-to-use non-formal methods, micro-activities, and longer learning modules, with each one fully documented with its purpose, step-by-step instructions, and debriefing questions to ensure strong transferability to future youth initiatives.

The unique setting of Alanya created an inspiring learning atmosphere, set between the Mediterranean Sea and the Taurus Mountains, enriched by local history and intercultural dialogue. From exploring the historic Alanya Castle to spending moments of reflection by the coast and Kleopatra Beach, the environment added depth to the participants’ shared journey.

Organized by ARYAS NGO and supported by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme, this training course was a valuable step in strengthening the capacities of environmental educators across Europe. We return from Türkiye energized, inspired, and more connected; ready to act as multipliers, share this new toolkit with our local communities, and support young people in shaping a more sustainable future.
