ROUTE TO YOU(TH)
Youth Exchange
22.09-30.09.2025.
San Miguel de Aras (Cantabria), Spain
We are happy to announce that the Erasmus+ youth exchange “Route To You(th)” has been successfully completed, bringing together young people for an inspiring and transformative experience in San Miguel de Aras, Cantabria, Spain. The activity took place from 22nd to 30th September 2025 and was hosted by El Cencerro Joven.
The project gathered participants from Spain, Serbia, Portugal, Hungary and Italy, offering a unique environment focused on wellbeing, nature, movement and cultural exchange. The youth exchange was designed as a journey into healthy habits, outdoor exploration and personal growth. Through a combination of physical activities, mindfulness practices and experiential workshops, participants were encouraged to connect with themselves, their surroundings and each other.
Throughout the program, the group engaged in surfing, hiking, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, meditation and community-based learning facilitated by local experts. These activities showcased the benefits of sports and nature for physical and mental wellbeing and introduced participants to new ways of nurturing a balanced lifestyle. The experience also promoted co-creation, gratitude and group cohesion, creating a positive atmosphere for cooperation and self-discovery.
One of the strongest elements of the exchange was its intercultural dimension. By bringing together 35 participants from five European countries, the project created an environment where different cultures, traditions and personal perspectives naturally converged. This intercultural learning helped participants understand each other better, appreciate diversity and build meaningful connections rooted in mutual respect.
The main objectives of the youth exchange included encouraging reflection on lifestyle choices, promoting the importance of wellbeing and healthy routines, and strengthening the feeling of community among young Europeans. Through discussions, group challenges and practical activities, participants explored how everyday habits influence their lives and how nature-based practices can support their wellbeing. The program inspired them to adopt more mindful approaches to health, movement and personal development.
Organised by El Cencerro Joven and supported by the Erasmus+ programme, Route To You(th) demonstrated how sports, mindfulness and outdoor learning can empower young people to reconnect with themselves and broaden their understanding of wellbeing. The project highlighted the positive impact of shared experiences in nature and the value of stepping away from routine to rediscover balance, strength and community.
