THROUGH MARKERS & LENSES
Training Course
16.10-23.10.2025.
Mollina (Málaga) Spain
The Erasmus+ training course “Through Markers and Lenses” took place from 16th to 23rd October 2025 in Mollina, Málaga, Spain, hosted by EuroMuévete. The training brought together youth workers, educators, and NGO representatives who aimed to strengthen their skills in visual communication, digital creativity, and storytelling.
What made this training distinctive was its focus on the growing importance of visuals in youth work. Young people today communicate most naturally through images, videos, and fast-paced online content, while many organizations still rely on communication styles that struggle to reach them. The project responded to this need by offering practical learning in video creation, photography, graphic facilitation, and design for social media. Participants explored how a universal visual language can reduce language and cultural barriers, making youth work more accessible and effective.
Throughout the week, participants worked together in an intercultural setting, practicing illustration, video production, and photography. These sessions supported youth workers in developing clearer and more engaging ways to communicate ideas and helped NGOs improve their visibility in both local and international contexts. As part of the learning process, participants also contributed to the creation of a visual communication guide, available at https://bit.ly/3LePTYn, which gathers practical tips and techniques they can apply within their organizations.
Along with developing technical skills, the training created space for exchanging practices, discussing challenges, and generating new ideas for future initiatives. Through group activities and hands-on exercises, participants identified strategies to enhance their organizations’ communication and increase the impact of their work with young people.
The project brought together partners from Spain, Italy, Romania, Poland, Serbia, Latvia, and Jordan, which provided a rich environment for networking and collaboration. By the end of the course, participants returned home with improved digital competences, new partnerships, and a stronger ability to produce visual content that resonates with young audiences.
Organized by EuroMuévete and supported by the Erasmus+ programme, Through Markers and Lenses demonstrated how essential creative communication has become for modern youth work. It showed that visual storytelling is not only a tool for outreach but also a way to connect communities, amplify important messages, and empower organizations to make their work more visible and impactful.
